Gettin' the Little Girls Started Off Early
I couldn't believe this when I saw it posted on Little Happy Bunnies' blog. Apparently, Tesco actually tried to sell a stripper pole geared towards children. I thought it was a hoax; how could this possibly be true? It's disgusting and disturbing to such a degree, that someone, somewhere, at one of the board meetings or in the marketing department or in the legal department had to have said, "Wait, maybe we shouldn't do this." But they did it, anyway.
I am at least somewhat gratified that there was a backlash, and Tesco has now removed the pole from their website and from the children's section of the toy stores. Tesco "denied the pole dancing kit was sexually oriented." It's a pole that comes with "sexy" music, fake bills, and a garter belt to stick them in. Yeah, it's not sexually oriented.
Four words: What were they thinking?!
