Restaurant Review: Rock Bottom Café, Milwaukee

The Rock Bottom Restaurant and Brewery is a chain, but somehow it feels local. Their website doesn't indicate where the chain started, but I wouldn't be surprised if Milwaukee was where it started. It does feel like a chain - it has that TGI Fridays slickness to it - but its like TGI Fridays for adults. The food is very good, and the beer - it is a microbrewery, after all - is well worth the trip. My favorite is the Brown Bear, which is probably the darkest beer I've ever had that didn't taste bitter. I had the smoked salmon fish & chips, and Christina had the onion soup and a salad. My favorite dish there, however, is their jambalaya.
