Travel Love and Hate
Strix and I are busy packing. We're heading out of town tomorrow evening to visit family in Missouri and so Strix can attend her graduation at Missouri State. I both love and hate long drives and vacations.
I love:
- the road
- eating at new restaurants
- sleeping in a room where someone else will change the sheets, etc.
- seeing family and friends
- sleeping in
- quality time with Strix
I hate:
- knowing that every day I'm away from work, my in-box is getting that much deeper
- knowing that we are choosing a cross-country road trip when the gas prices are higher than they've ever been
- leaving my two cats at home with a stranger watching them for us
- the weight I will gain from all of the eating out we're going to do
Okay, more love items than hate items, so I guess I'll go out on a limb and say it's a good thing.

I've never been to Missouri - but can I assume that there will be barbecue involved at some point?
And I love eating on the road, too - even if it means stopping at a Denny's in the middle of desert; in some bizarre way it just adds to the festivities.
Hates:
Yeah, I've been thinking about getting a laptop just to keep up on my E-Mails. -More and more motels are setting up internet lines, wi-fi, etc. for people like us.
Well, we made our trip to, and from Florida (from New York) and spent about $400 on gas.
-We don't like leaving our cats in a kennel, or with strangers, so they went with us! They cry for about an hour, hour and a half before accepting the situation... They're pretty mad when we finally let them out, in a motel room, but they settle down after a while. Ha! -Every morning, it's a chore getting them out from underneath motel room beds and back into their kitty cages, but they're more than sweet when we finally get home! ;-)
-Weight gain can be minimal, if you watch what you eat, but then again, dude, it's a VACATION, eh? -Enjoy yourselves!!!
-Be sure to take LOTS of pix for us, and be safe. -Idiots don't just drive in town anymore!!!
;-)

Hmm... maybe! :-D
Have you ever eaten at a Babe's while there?
No, but I hear there's a really good Etheopian restaurant in Oklahoma City I'll have to check out.
Be sure to wave when you drive by, we're just north of KCMO...
