The Tivoli Student Union serves as the union for the Community College of Denver, Metropolitan State College of Denver, and the University of Colorado Denver. It's also a brewery. The Tivoli brewery operated from 1866 to 1966, and after a hundred years of hops, it struggled for a few years trying to recover after a particularly difficult labor strike, then went out of business. In 1994, it was renovated and reopened as the student union. So, here's to higher education... ::hic::

Yes, those are real tumbleweeds at the back of the set. This is the set of Shakespeare's As You Like It, set in the old west, done at San Juan College recently. Strix and I went to opening night last Friday.
Shakespeare is frequently re-set to the old west in New Mexico, so I tend to cringe when I see that someone else is doing it, too, but this was very well done so it doesn't matter if it's been done before. My friend Joey Herring was the director, and I had several friends in the cast.
